J.C. Steele vertical integration includes:

Steele stiff extrusion technology offers companies with mountains of waste materials a superior alternative to comparable recycling technologies. Our high-torque, high-powered stiff extruder machines are highly efficient, processing up to 100 tons per hour, with lower capital and operating costs. Our agglomeration and stiff extrusion technology requires no additives and has fewer processing steps, which makes it ideal for commercialization of a wide range of raw materials and manufacturing byproducts.

J.C. Steele stiff extruder and material preparation machines are built for decades of efficient, reliable, high volume output. The experience of supporting a U.S. and international installed base, plus years of working with plant operators, machinery operators and maintenance specialists have driven steady continuous improvement in our stiff extrusion equipment, pug mills and feeding systems.

Our stiff extruder and agglomeration machines require minimal maintenance. They’re designed and engineered for harsh environments, while offering ease of service and fast replacement of wearing parts. We use high-grade ductile iron stock castings for machine frames and bodies, and our 28PC high chrome iron alloy for all wearing parts (read more about our foundry and casting process).

Every J.C. Steele machine comes with the industry’s toughest wearing parts, backed by the industry’s best customer service (J.C. Steele has a substantial investment in a global service organization and inventory commitment, warehousing augers, shafts, shaft assemblies, bearings, gears and electrical components for all J.C. Steele machinery, plus a warehouse staff offering 24/7 availability in the U.S.).

Application engineering for your specific waste management, resource recovery and commercialization requirements

Our application engineering begins with a technical feasibility study. Our experienced lab technicians and engineers evaluate your materials in our laboratory to determine if they’re suitable for stiff extrusion. The second step is a commercial feasibility study, to determine the baseline equipment required to make an agglomerated product. Once this is complete, you can decide whether stiff extrusion is the right technology for your recycling or commercialization requirements.

Our engineers can perform additional tests with you to ensure that the agglomerated and extruded product meets or exceeds your specifications, while educating you on effective machine operation. We do this with our sales engineers, to make sure you have the right technology for your application, while minimizing your capital and operating costs.

J.C. Steele application engineering is an ongoing process, with operations and optimization support. Our engineers and service professionals provide troubleshooting and advice on wearing and machine parts, to minimize machine downtime. We can support Lean programs for increased production capacity, help you move from a reactive approach to maintenance to conditions-based service, and reduce or eliminate downtime, to lower the cost of ownership and improve your return on investment.

The world’s best stiff extrusion machinery plus the material preparation technologies you need

J.C. Steele stiff extrusion machinery uses high torque and pressure to produce penetrometer readings as high as 4.0-4.5 kg/cm2, working with a wide range of coal waste. The high torque and high pressures generated in our stiff extrusion technology means that we can process materials with relatively low plasticity and low moisture content. As a result, stiff extrusion presents a more efficient, cost-effective alternative to comparable waste management and resource recovery solutions.

We have a line of de-airing extrusion machines for your waste management, resource recovery and commercialization requirements.
