J.C. Steele Hammermill Upgrades

We manufacture a number of hammermill tools and upgrades to improve operating efficiency and durability. 

These include:

  • Hammermill lower liner and breaker bar
  • Hammermill auxiliary breaker bar

We designed the auxiliary breaker bars as an alternative to the “flat plate” breaker bars that were part of the Hammermill’s original design.

Hammermill Auxiliary Breaker Bar

We designed the auxiliary breaker bars as an alternative to the “flat plate” breaker bars that were part of the Hammermill’s original design.  The auxiliary breaker bar features four replaceable 28PC breaker bar sections mounted on an auxiliary breaker bar.  The 29PC sections can usually be rotated twice after initial installation, providing wear life far greater than the conventional breaker bar (as long as wear is monitored, the breaker bar itself can be used indefinitely).

Virtually all of our customers who have switched to this option have found it to be an improvement.  Note that a different 58A liner is required to accommodate the larger size of the auxiliary breaker bar sections.

Decreases the amount of material that slides across the curved cover liner.

Hammermill Lower Liner and Breaker Bar

Our Hammermill lower liner and breaker bar extend the service life of your first line of defense against raw material sliding around the cover.  Both lower liner and adder bar are fabricated from a high durability, abrasion resistant ¾” thick metal plate.  In addition, the adder bar is reversible, so you can turn it to expose a second edge when the first one wears out.

The Adder Bar closes the gap between the hammer tips and the leading edge of the lower liner, decreasing the amount of material that slides across the curved cover liner.
