About our 28PC Alloy Throughout this catalog, you will find references to '28PC' alloy. This hard, abrasion-resistant high chrome alloy is used extensively for wearing parts on all Steele machines. Our foundry's electric induction furnaces are ideally suited to the production and casting of this highly desirably alloy. Because 28PC is so wear-resistant, machine components that must be 'worn-in' to acheive full production (such as point augers and spirals) are 'pre-slicked' at the factory before delivery to minimize or eliminate the break-in period.
