Steele extruders can process materials with 10-20% moisture and varying plasticity, to produce brick, block and tile with void areas up to 65%.<\/em><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Every customer\u2019s raw materials are different. So as versatile as our stiff extrusion technology is, sometimes Steele engineers have to work with a customer to meet ambitious shaping and production specs.<\/p>\n

Recently, a customer wanted to produce a queen-size brick with 28% void, strong enough to handle with setting equipment. When their existing setup couldn\u2019t deliver, the customer called us.<\/p>\n

We assessed production and recommended a new Steele die solution, using our L Die and V-2 Oil Pump<\/b><\/a>. The new installation provided the right coring pattern, with lubrication at both the rear of the die base and shaper cap.<\/p>\n

The die worked from the start, producing queen-size product with 28.1% void and a penetrometer reading of 4.5, ready for setting equipment. You can read the case study here.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n
